Canceling Audible stops the next charge; it does not, by itself, refund fees you already paid. Audible’s US conditions of use say membership fees are non-refundable except in the cases those terms describe. Cancel before a free trial ends to avoid the first paid charge, return eligible titles from purchase history on Audible.com, and if you subscribed through Apple or Google, cancel and request the refund there.
What happens to credits and the library
Cancellation does not wipe purchased content. It does end member benefits when the cancel takes effect. Use leftover credits before you cancel if you still want them; unused member benefits do not turn into a cash refund under the standard terms.
- Canceled during the trial: you should not be charged. If you were, that is the refund request.
- Canceled on a paid month: the fee already taken is the one Audible’s terms call non-refundable. Still write if the cancel confirmation is dated before the charge.
- Signed up in an app: the store’s refund rules apply, including Apple’s reportaproblem.apple.com and Google Play’s 48-hour window.
