Key facts

Window
Contact Uber Eats within 48 hours for the best chance of a refund or other resolution.
Wrong or missing items
Name the exact items. For a wrong item, upload a photo of what you received.
Wrong bag
If it looks like someone else’s order, photograph the items and any receipt in the bag.
Replacement
Uber Eats says they cannot replace the order; the usual remedy is a refund of the affected items or the full order.
  1. 01
    Open Help on that order

In the Uber Eats app, open the order and start Help for wrong or missing items, or for an order that looks like it belongs to someone else.

  2. 02
Upload the photo they ask for

Photograph the food you received and, if it is in the bag, the receipt. Entire-order “never arrived” reports often go to an agent instead of the instant Help flow.

  3. 03
If 48 hours have passed, still write

Send a short message with the order number, the time of delivery, and why you could not report sooner. After that, use the card-issuer summary if the food was not provided.

How this works

Uber Eats asks you to report a wrong or missing order within 48 hours. After that, they say they may be unable to refund. They will not replace the order. Name the exact items, upload a photo of what you received, and keep the in-app ticket if the first Help result is only a small credit or a denial.

What the 48-hour limit actually means

Uber’s help pages say that after 48 hours they may be unable to provide a refund. That is their support cutoff, not a law. If the order was not delivered or was the wrong order, keep the photos and the order record for your card issuer.

  • Missing a drink or a side: item-level refund is the usual ask.
  • Entire bag is someone else’s: full-order refund, with photos of the receipt.
  • Marked delivered, nothing at the door: report immediately; these often go to an agent.
  • Help offered Uber Cash only: ask for the original payment method in writing.
Before you send, and when to escalate

Before you send

  • Report within 48 hours of delivery.
  • Name each missing item instead of a generic complaint.
  • Keep the photo you uploaded; Help tickets can be hard to find later.
  • Ask for a card refund if the app only offers Uber Cash.

Escalate when

  • You reported within 48 hours and Help closed without a refund.
  • The bag was someone else’s and they offered only a partial credit.
  • The order was marked delivered and nothing arrived.
Common questions
Can I get an Uber Eats refund after 48 hours?
Uber says support after 48 hours may not be able to refund. You can still write with the order number and photos. If the food was not provided, you can also ask your card issuer to review the charge.
Will Uber Eats send a replacement order?
Their help pages say they cannot replace the order. Ask for a refund of the affected items or the full order.
Do I need a photo?
Yes, if you received the wrong item or someone else’s bag. Photograph the food and any receipt in the bag. For a missing side, the order screenshot plus a photo of what did arrive is enough.
What if Help keeps offering credits?
Reply on that order that you want the amount returned to the original payment method. Save the transcript if you later send a card-issuer summary.
